MISSION AIRLIFT
A high degree of professional skill is needed to
evacuate casualties. Understandably, the objective is to keep patients alive and safely
bring them to a major medical facility.
Following all requisite confirmations, the flying doctors commence loading medical equipment
and extraneous items into the van and immediately start moving towards the airport.
Swiftness and efficiency are essential in this field of rescue and air ambulance services.
Once the medical team has left the office, the captain of the aircraft is contacted and informed
about the movement of the medical team, so that he may prepare the aircraft for take off.
All formalities pertaining to the availability of the aircraft, aircrew, refuelling,
ATC permission and other clearances are pre-arranged by the technical staff.
As the team arrives at the airport, all the medical equipment and other items are loaded
onto the aircraft and within a period of 15-20 minutes the aircraft undergoes conversion
to an Air Ambulance fitted with all intensive care unit airworthy portable medical equipment.
Treating doctors of the medical facility where the patient is located - and is already receiving primary care - are informed in advance
to move the patient to the airport, if possible, otherwise our medical team goes to
the patient's location. As far as possible, all necessary measures for the intensive care
of the patient are completed on the ground itself and the patient is promptly put on all
required life support.
Once inside the Air Ambulance, our medical team consisting of two highly skilled doctors in critical care medicine and high altitude
physiology give their best to the ailing casualty and ensure his safe arrival to a major
medical facility.
