India Aeromedical Services is the brain child of two highly qualified and experienced professionals, Dr. Anil Mehra and Mr. Pradeep Thampi, in the field of Aviation Medicine and Aviation Operations respectively, who envisioned an air ambulance service in India to match the best and most advanced anywhere in the world. They were pioneers in the field of air evacuation and rescue in this country where such infrastructure was the prerogative of only the Indian Armed Forces.
Eight years ago, when India Aeromedical Services began its operations as the first air ambulance in India, flying patients from small medical facilities to hospitals of medical excellence was a major undertaking. With India being such a large country with an underdeveloped infrastructure, issues like finding aircraft, landing permissions, AAI and DGCA rules and regulations were an exercise in patience. Despite limitations, India Aeromedical Services persisted through work, determination, resourcefulness and the dedication of its medical and operations teams. India Aeromedical Services quickly developed its network, capabilities and reputation of quality service, matching any other in the world.
